Can you split the line coming out of your voip device and attach two phones?

VoIP

I need an additional handset for my voip phone. I am thinking about splitting the connection coming out of the voip device and attaching two phones. Does anyone know if that will work?

on the back of my Uniden-base-phone is a analog (RJ11) phone-plug….put a regular phone in there…all other extensions don’t need a plug at all…you just put the power-supply in the electrical outlet! you can not split the VoIP line….the mainbase has a build-in router…you can’t see it!

The phone output from your VoIP device should be able to handle more than one unit, just like a normal landline. But, just like a normal landline, there’s only so many devices it can electrically drive. But two shouldn’t be a problem.
